A lot of interesting warbird happenings taking place at Sywell centered around Air Leasing - the P-47, the F-6D "Lil' Margaret", the Buchon G-AWHM (which appears ready to fly any day now), the P-51D "Mary Mine" restoration (rumored to be heading for completion next year), the "White 9" Buchon project, and more (haven't heard anything on the P-38 front in a while).

Thanks John and scotavia for the links to the pics.
Another FL participant perhaps?
(Fingers crossed!)
Cheers

-I believe the P38 has left Air Leasing and returned to its owner, but they also have the Tempest II restoration.

-They are top people though we're seriously thinking of getting them drugs tested - they reassembled NGNG, repainted her and ran her engine in less than 12 days! :)

-Stunning! The 492nd is, of course, still in the UK - flying F15s from Lakenheath. Reckon it'll be one of Nellie's first calls......

-I mentioned that in the other thread. A really nice idea to have the Jug painted in the markings of a unit still stationed in the UK. I'm guessing some nice P-47/F-15 air to air photos might surface at some point.

-I thought it was just a nice paint scheme, but learning the same unit still flies in the UK makes it a very special one. Wonderful times for UK airshow fans!
