Brief update - most of the EBAY parts mentioned above are already covered by items in NAM's growing inventory of Puma parts!

Whispers coming through that the boom will be fitted this morning; sadly I'm unable to be over there today, but will keep people updated if and when any photos are added to this gallery! http://www.newarkairmuseum.org/gallery

TwinOtter, are museum volunteers completing the Puma mainly externally at the moment? I’m wondering if hidden systems will be worked on in the long run (such as hydraulic lines, and transmission components). Thanks.

Thank you for the feedback everyone, much appreciated and I will make sure that it is fed back into the team at Newark – once again a big public thank you to VARSITY & the team at East Midlands Aeropark for helping to make this happen – thank you all!

As for the level/detail of the rebuild, that’s a good question. Over the years XW208 has been subject to a considerable amount of ‘spares recovery’ work, so returning functionality is a secondary aim; the main priority at the moment is to get a complete structure together.

The project leader is an ex-Puma guy and he is doing a great job, with lots of support from in the RAF and the wider helicopter community; so NAM is following his guidance quite closely and even its current state today c/w tail boom is perhaps more than was originally hoped for back in February!

It’s great progress indeed, and means a lot in particular to those from the Puma community. It’s good to read that the RAF and wider helicopter community are being so supportive. Well done!

The helicopter community involvement has been very encouraging and greatly appreciated; it is one of the reasons that NAM is trying a helicopter event in August 2019!

I'm heading over to NAM later today and I'll try and get some photos that I can post!

I'm fairly certain that the Puma project already has both seats, but just in case I will let the team leader know! Thanks again for another heads-up!!

A fresh update about the Puma XW208 rebuild project has just been added to the NAM website and it details the current status of the search for parts.

I dont understand why they never simply linked the PDF to the page rather than ask for it.

Incidently did you approach the people who own this I mentioned earlier, as it still retains the lower firewalls etc.

Thanks Rocketeer I'll pass on that info.

TonyT - I'm advised that it's more hassle to keep having to change a linked PDF file (which is a dynamic document - initial release from yesterday already changed) as opposed to using the email link option - the file is attached to this post. They are aware of & in contact with the company in #75
