-Finally seen something at North Weald! First time I've used the camera there since November. Dropped in this afternoon just in time to see the Sea Fury depart on a test flight. They had fuelled it again after it returned, but I had to depart onwards to Harlow so not sure if it went up again or not.

-I see the RNHF Sea Fury has been provisionally added to the line-up for the Abingdon airshow next month. Hopefully all will go well with the air tests and look forward to seeing it once again in 3 weeks time.

-Lovely warm day over at North Weald, and pleasantly surprised to note the yellow Gnat and Hangar 11 Spitfire both outside upon arrival. Spitfire was already on the move shortly after entering the main gate, so spent the day with the Gnats, only nipping across to catch the Spitfire returning to the hangar.
Gnat G-RORI was already up and about and returned shortly after the Spitfire got airborne, seen here returning to parking.

A warning light kept G-MOUR grounded, so the crew jumped back into RORI, which also needed some TLC, before departing on another sortie. Didn't wait around for the return.

-"Honey Rider" is the name written on the air starter.
Handful from a quick visit today to get the JP sortie.

Bit tight on the framing with this one - as shot unfortunately.

-Saturday 21 April and Sunday 22 April
A very busy weekend for us with nearly 230 movements on Saturday and 250 movements on Sunday. It was the first time this year that anything significant has happened while i was on duty. I spent most of the weekend in the Tower, but did manage to get out on Saturday to photograph the Spitfire PRXI and the Gnats.
G-MOUR went out first but had a generator problem
G-RORI was serviceable and went out three times, doing missed approaches on return.
On Sunday we had a visit by the 1944 DH89B Queen Bee G-BLUZ/ LF858 from RAF Henlow

-Has the trim tab on that c47 always been that blue colour?
By: 28th April 2018 at 14:51 Permalink - Edited 1st January 1970 at 01:00
-It wasn't blue when it came in last year, so may have been replaced.
