I imagine the Cambridge Geek Con will be a pop culture (comicbooks, video games, collectibles) convention.

Re. the Chipmunk, what is the purpose of he two (2) aerials positioned on either side of the fuselage, just infront of the strakes ?

Never seen them on any other Chippy.

Its a great shame that frenesi is going back to the USA. Will Berlin Express follow?

They look like a TAS (Traffic Advisory System) installation

New year, new plans. But does anyone know what the IWM's plans are for the Halifax forward fuselage section PN323, it has been in a gutted state at Duxford for several years. Hardly a fitting tribute to one of HP's finest.
                                      Cheers

After a few engine runs on the eastern apron this morning, Sea Fury WG655 taxied out in some thoroughly miserable weather, presumably to the tie-downs for some high power engine runs.

On a DX tangent, according to the IWM Meisterplan I understand that the Land Warfare Hall is to be flattened and a new conservation building put up in its place with the vehicles being sprinkled liberally around the site. Presumably moving the Conservation Hangar contents into the new building will effectively free up a hangar but in turn the vehicles will fill up that space. Seems a shame, I rather like the diorama aspect of the LWH and no doubt there will be a cull of kit deemed surplus too. With the floaty things having been sent elsewhere (assume HMS Belfast ticks the Navy Box) perhaps the Imperial Air Museum Duxford will be the rebrand. Anyone know when the work is due to start and/or whether there will be Public access to the conservation area?
