    Duxford Tuesday 18th July:

Long awaited Airco DH.9 E8894 (to fly as G-CDLI) arrived this afternoon from Fairford. She will be rigged over the next few days in Hangar 3, first flight 'when she's ready'. A truly amazing re-creation.

Many thanks to the HAC/Retrotec team.

Some of Duxford's residents were on the move to free space in Hangar 3:

Absolutely gorgeous DH9 and photos. Another 'back from the dead' thanks to master craftsmen, with so much to admire. A timely opportunity to thank all those who contribute to this thread.

Interesting to see the different shades of RAF camouflage brown. Does the paint fade over time?

Thanks for posting the pics of the DH9 and, well, everything else as well. Much appreciated.
The DH9 is a Guy Black project that looks like it has spared nothing in the pursuit of authenticity.
              Just Wow!! Stunning!

I had the pleasure to see the DH9 when almost complete at Retrotec and the detail is amazing.
Great job on both this flyable, and the museum static.

When will the boo... about the discovery and reconstruction of the DH.9 be out?

Absolutely stunning photos as always - many thanks to those who give the time and effort to capture and share them.

Good to see 'Frankie' out of the hangar - What's the latest on her? I don't recall her flying for some time. Have I just overlooked her flights or has she been on the ground for some time?

Christ, the DH.9 is a lot bigger than I thought!

Daz - try out a DH.4, I was stunned at the size of it! Actually it's likely about the same, the US-built ones in NZ look bigger because of the cowling and radiator arrangement.

It's fantastic to see the DH.9 at Duxford. I'm truly very envious of all of you able to see it up close and, in time, watch it fly. A wonderful achievement.

I've heard that Duxford uses this Artec 3d scanner to perform quality control and creating individual spare parts for the aircrafts. Can you tell me about it, if it's a true Info. I work with CAD models, and I'm trying to collect info about using 3d scanners in CAD modelling.

It will be great to see the Repro DH9 finally take flight.

I think you will find Airfix use 3d modelling these days for their kits, also these guys.
