    started a topic Gerards Colorbook

    Gerards Colorbook

It all started with the search of a color picture on a Latvian pre WW2 aircraft, the one with the red swastika I mean. I found out that such picture doesn't exist. A forum member (other forum) offered to color a b&w picture for me and here is the result: (enjoy watching the past coming to life)

after seeing that I started to color b&w pictures myself.

Bulgaria with roundel used from 1937 - 1941

Italian Navy Roundel used for less then a few years

the higher the resolution the better the result but sometimes it is not possible to find a good high resolution picture so you have to do with what you find

    Turkish Air Force WW1

    Latvia national Guard

    Piaggio P180A

Below the 3 differnet position of the roundel used by the Dutch pre 1939

    Fokker C-VIII W

    Dornier Do Wal

    Focke Wulf 58B

and I did also some pictures not for roundel purposes, just for fun

    unknown where and wenn

Small escort carriers were used well into the 60s, not for flight operations but to ferry aircraft, especially in the days before AAR became common or types without the capability or helicopters.
F-102s were retrofitted with it in the late 69s, so that dates the photo somewhat.
My guess is they're enroute to Hawaii or the Philippines.

Klan Airways? You need to provide a bit more context here! The reverse swastika on the tail is quite an interesting addition.

    non aircraft related but interesting:
Den Burg, Texel, Netherlands. 1945. On April 4 the Russian (Georgian) uprising started on the occupied island. The Georgians were hoping to overrun the Germans but it ended in a battle that lastet to May 20.Well beyond the date of the German surrender in Europe. This forgotten battle was the last in Europe during the 2nd WW.
