On Monday of this week, 94 year-old Norman Didwell flew again with 99 Squadron for the first time since he left the unit in 1941. Norman is probably the only pre-war member of the Squadron left, joining it at Mildenhall in May 1939 and working on the first Wellingtons in the RAF. Monday's flight was organised courtesy of Wg Cdr Stu Lindsell, 99's current CO, as part of the celebrations of the forthcoming new Wellington book which is being launched at Duxford next month.
