-Lovely shots Si, nice to see the Fisher P-75 Eagle, Northrop YC-125 Raider, X types and I assume a highly polished DC-4?
Have you got anymore pics to share?

It's the C-54 outfitted for FDR. complete with special wheelchair lift.
Best of all, it's open to walk through as is Truman's C-118 (DC-6), Eisenhower's Constallation, JFK/Johnson/Nixon/> VC-137 (707).
Aside from historic considerations, it fun to see not only the VIP interior appointments but also just to go aboard airliners of the day and see the ancient flight decks and radio stacks.
Great photos.

-I was there about 12 years ago. I remember phoning and asking how long I should allow for my visit and I thought they were joking when they said 2 days.
The B-36 and XB70 were both awesome.....I stood behind those 6 jet pipes and couldn't really take it all in.

-The orange one is the Ryan BQM-34F "Firebee II" Supersonic Aerial Target.
The gray one with the flat fuselage is the Dark Star.
BTW: It's a YF-12 not a SR-71...not easy to tell from this angle.

That's twice I've done that, can see the flattened chines and ventral fins now!
What was Dark Star used for? Looks as mad as the spaceship of the same name!
Edit, think we're talking about different things, I mean the thing that looks like a stealth van with small wings, in the pic above the pic of the YF-12?

Evening all,
Went to the USAF museum in Dayton this weekend. Great place with fantastic exhibits but really hard to get good shots as the exhibits are really packed in. There is a plan to build a fourth hangar to include a C-5 and some of the exhibits outside.
I visited the Air force One's hangar and the experimental hangar. The Valkyrie still takes my breath away along with one of the Bell X-1's and an X-15 this is some kind of hangar, again very tightly packed in so difficult to capture. The P-75A Eagle really caught my eye this time round.
Well here are some pictures, I took 300+ and have chosen a few here in 2 parts some outside and the hangars then some warbirds and oldy's from the inside. I even managed to slip in a TONKA!!! hahahaha:diablo:
Apologies for the indulgent self portrait in the nose of the X-15 couldnt help myself!
