The post about the garden centre find reminded me....
When walking the South Downs near Westmeston (East Sussex) circa 1971/2 I was shown a large fibreglass radome which I later decided was ex Valiant. It was in quite good order, a bit crushed at the bottom, but completely grown-in with brambles or gorse. I puzzled how it got there and it was a mystery to me for years.
Later, I am sure that I read of a Valiant that lost its radome in flight over Sussex but have never been able to find reference to it since.
Anyone got any ideas?
I wonder if its still there? Or if my tenuous 'link' was correct?
