-I flew over Twinwood Farms earlier today and there didn't seem to be any activity. Was it a flying field when you saw YAN back in the 70s?

-I saw this flying out of Twinwoods in the seventies owned by David Wilkinson ? It was mainly silver then . Twinwood closed to flying in 1984 the runways were broken up in November of that year. Also remember Tiger Moth G-ANOO doing the glider tugging there.

-RAE used it for private flying, that Tiger Moth was also present then. Locals from Bedford used the airfield back then to teach folk to drive off the public highway.
My uncle was a police officer back then and Twinwood Farm was on his 'patch'. When I used to stay with him, I got a great tour of the local airfields inc Little Staughton and Castle Mill. The best mind you was Thurleigh, with BOAC 707s and VC10s bashing the circuit.

-If no one else will mention it and for the benefit of those thinking where Have I heard that Name, Twinwood was the take off point for Glenn Miller's last flight. :(

I last saw this at Twinwoods Farm near Thurleigh in the early 1970's. Photographed today at Lasham making a rare excursion from it's box.
