Hopefully before too long an airworthy Tempest II will become a reality :)

In the top photo with the Beau, is that a Hudson in the background in RAAF markings? If so what is the serial No:

Hudson is a MkIIIA serial No A16-199.
Picture does not show it.

Yes, i really enjoyed it yesterday, my first visit for about 6 years. Its in a bit of a muddle at the moment as they are trying to make room for new exhibits and the extension of course, nevertheless very enjoyable, especially as its free.Mind you it makes you worry a bit about future funding.

Some nice shots there Philo, a valiant effort considering the atrocious lighting they have at Hendon.
Very nice to see the Beaufighter is a little less cluttered than it was a few months ago, when it and the Beaufort appeared to be joined at the hip (if Bristol twins have hips, that is...). Like ashley, may have to take another visit there quite soon, hopefully get some better shots of the Beau than I did last time.

To be fair to Hendon, the light levels are deliberately low to minimise the deteriorating effects of high light levels on the aircraft surfaces finishes, canopy glazing and structures, especially with the earlier types.

I wish they would put walkways so you could peer into the cockpits of the bigger aircraft such as the Valiant.
