Another recent addition to the UK register is G-TPWX, a Gomhouria (ie Bu181 Bestmann) ex D-EECW. Registered 10-8-11, it has exemption to fly as Luftwaffe 'TP+WX'. Probably being repainted somewhere at the moment, there is a photo of a visit to Turweston recently at:

Thanks to Chris for the info.

Well the fact it has been registered with CAA is a clue

The latest batch of new UK registrations include:

G-CGYD Firefly I ex SE-BRG reg 2-9-11 to Propshop Ltd at Duxford. Has been at Duxford since 2004. This suggests at least a possibility of a rebuild starting.

G-KAMY AT-6D Harvard ex LN-AMY reg 2-9-11. Has been UK based (Duxford and North Weald) since 1993.

A clue indeed and a good start ;), but sadly no guarantee.

I concur re the Firefly, again if and when. A much missed RN type on the airshow circuit in the UK!

When I saw "Ehrler's" 109 in Russia it was very fragmented and incomplete, there was another 109G2 for sale in Moscow and was about 70% complete, I suspect the two have been merged together which is why there are no Ehrler crash site or recovery photos about. Buyer beware.

I was also told by a Russian contact that the recovered pieces of Ehrler's 109 were small fragments only and it was suggested by the contact that the pieces could be amalgamated into another 109G wreck which had previously been recovered and was being offered for sale with a less interesting history.

Unless it is made perfectly clear to any potential buyer that this has been done it is unethical to me to claim that the wreck is Ehrler's and not only that but to claim it is 65% complete? Maybe someone has innocently been hoodwinked?

Additions to the Register:

G-CGYF Gloster Gamecock II ex Finnish AF GA-43 registered 14-9-11 to Retro Track And Air.

G-FXII Spitfire F.XII ex EN224 registered 12-9-11 to Air Leasing Ltd.

There's something to look forward to...

Latest additions, from G-INFO:

G-CGWR NORD NC856A ex F-BMHS reg 2-11-11
G-CGYJ Spitfire HF.IX ex TD314 reg 1-11-11
G-MOTW Meyers OTW-145 ex N34301 reg 10-11-11
G-RCSR DH.88 Comet replica reg 2-11-11

The Spitfire is ex SAAF and Canada.

The Meyers OTW could be the first in Europe. Around 100 built in 1941, looks similar to the Stearman but with all metal fuselage. OTW stands for 'Out To Win'. The OTW-145 had a 145hp Warner Super Scarab, the OTW-160 had a 160hp Kinner R5, but survivors probably 'mix and match' engines. Believed 20-30 still flying in USA, two seen here at Lakeland 1997:

F-BMHS was a Stampe which is recorded as having been destroyed on 8.9.83! I wonder whether the Nord Norvigie G-CGWR might have been F-PGCD. I know that it was being offered for sale but not whether it has been sold. However the DGAC website lists it as current on the French register.

The c/n of G-CGWR (54) indicates that it is ex 54/AOM French Mil, recently noted at Spanhoe.

Two more notable additions to the UK register are in the latest G-INFO summary:

G-CGZP P-40F (TFC ex VH-PIV) has already been recorded.
G-ONAA is an OV-10B Bronco ex 99+18 registered 30-11-11 to Invicta Aviation. This was until recently on the strength of the International Luftfahrt Museum at Villingen-Schwennigen.

re;

any details on the Comet replica? Presumably its not the lovely one from the States? That would be a hell of a sight, parked with the real ones in a few years time.
