As a BTW: there's four of them sitting in a nearby hangar here. Can't be many places where there's that many about!
I assume that the Y.150S in the photo is PH-APY which crashed at Schipol on 23 January 1938. But can you please elaborate on your statement that there are four of them in a hangar near to you. I suspect that there's an interesting story behind the statement, Eric.

This is that 'crash', a heavy landing put a couple of wrinkles in the booms and damaged two gear legs. It was up and flying again in some weeks and was sold to the RAF in 1939 (they flew it up to 1942 but whatever became of it is shrouded in mystery...).

There's a bunch of them in a hangar at Lelystad. One is to fly, one for display, one for spares, and one is apparently paperwork and a dataplate only. The first two are substantially complete.

Where did they come from? What is their history?

NC15521, NC15524, NC15525 and NC15527 were imported as one big rediscovered cache from the US in 2007. Have not been flown in ages.

No takers on the big brute? This bomber prototype was not very successful. Note the tail skid. A bit dated for the type even by early 1930's standards.

This was a one-off. They decided to redesign it and give it a new designation along with putting it on floats and that was a failure as well. From a well known company.

It is the Farman F 270. The 271 was on floats.
