1000x Thanks to Flug Werk

I think all Warbird fans should thank Flug Werk for their momemtous undertaking of building the 190's like they have.
It was a fantastic boost for seeing other kinds of warbirds flying.
The sight of the one in the air at the Flying Legends was unforgetable.
I wish them of course "Good Luck" in the future with their other suberb restorations and business undertakings.

I totally agree. They succeeded in bringing the FW190 back into view as a type. Kinda like the Buchons did for the 109. Claus Colling and his team can be proud!

i thought they only built 20 ??

one or three built into rebuilds for museums, and the of the one or two airworthy - these only seem to work when u stick in a big American engine in it !!!!!!!!

There's a good four or five of them have actually had air under their wings, one crashed (and is under rebuild), and another had a gear malfunction.

Let's not forget that the French example flew fine until the prop failure...

 Actually reading it like that, that is quite a poor statistic.
I guess thats new planes and getting them through the hours safely.Everything has a failure rate,i guess.

Flown Flug-Werke aircraft:

D-FWWC (prototype - now in New Zealand, I think?)
F-AZZJ (now in Germany, under rebuild)
D-FWJS (flying)
D-FMFW (flying)

There's also two US-registered examples whose IDs I can't find at present, mind. One of these flew at Reno, and the other had a minor landing/taxiing accident last year.

We could have had G-FWAB as well, but it was not to be. Well, at least not in the UK...

There IS another full-scale replica '190, but this is a Jurca plans-built job. Stunning it is, too.

re;

I doubt there are many veterans who could intruct on them so its a case of ironing out the problems while flying a very powerful type?

D-FWWC ff 29/10/2004 - prototype

D-FWJS ff 19/02/2009

F-WZZJ ff 09/05/2009

N190BR ff 01/10/10 this has the AsH fitted (this is the one that ground-looped)

D-FMFW ff late 2010

N190RF ff late 2010 = P&W R2800

I don´t think it ever flew with the Allison. IIRC it is now in Germany (Meier Motors??) to be fitted with an original engine.

This one never flew, and was sold to another US owner and is to be fitted with a Jumo 213 in Germany. I'm curious why it did not fly with Allison, but I can only speculate on the reason. Flight certification issues?

Matthias D. will probably update if/when that happens. I'm looking forward to seeing this take shape (hopefully.)

A while ago, White 1 Foundation announced that they will be building a D-9 as the next project, but haven't said what parts they will be starting with beyond a data plate. They have 2 engines from the Frankfurt dig.

Peter - a useful list but a bit out of date now - the Military Aviation Museum example has been flying since last year - the Jacquard machine has changed owners and is under re-build in Germany - the Blair D-9 has also changed owners to MAM.

Thanks for the feedback chaps... the list was no doubt out of date the day I posted it on the LEMB back in May last year, so any continued feedback comments/updates always very much welcome... :)
