That is an unbelievably sad sight to see! Who do I contact to see about getting any parts off any of the VC10's that go to the airways beyond the sky?

Does anyone know for certain which VC10's are going to be kept? Are Bruntingthorpe keeping one for their open days? Any news on XV108's fate would be nice......

It is my understanding that the last VC10 into Brunty will be the one kept live....

          Peter,

You are correct, of the 18 (I think) that are to be scrapped at Bruntingthorpe, one will be preserved in taxiable condition.

808 will be going to Cosford.

Given the state of the examples currently on display at Duxford (Only Super still in civil configuration) and the Standard (only one of two complete civil standards remaining) at Brooklands maybe once spares are available from the scrapped RAF versions they could be donated to the respective museums to fix up the VC10's that they have?

Any idea which will be staying alive? Any others likely to be heading towards museums? Duxford taking an RAF example? Brooklands adding to their collection? Norwich taking a second RAF jet to accompany their Nimrod?

(Slight hijack - apologies) I see from the Air Displays International Biggin Hill Airshow website that a VC10 is due to display there both days, 26 and 27 June.

Does anyone know whether VC10's will feature in this years' Queen's Birthday Parade flypast?

For VC-10 fans this is worth a look, especially full screen HD!

That's actually fairly calm, have they got noise restriction at Manchester?

I will have to learn how to upload vids, VC-10 departures from St Athans miserly runway are, err, interesting!

                              Did you mean XV109?

Who can I speak to about trying to get hold of a couple on mementos from 807?

That plane was the first and last plane my Grandfather flew as captain and was his favourite VC10!

I can only assume that the photographer of this photo is mistaken:

Saying 808 is now at Bruntingthorpe to be broken? I thought it was going to cosford?

Likewise it would be nice to get a bit of a VC10 if there is something gooing
Push enough pixels around and it'll look like an aeroplane profile.

It’s now XR807’s turn to go through the reclamation process. XV109’s remains were shredded whilst I was away on holiday so no gruesome final photos I’m afraid!!

The 737 is in for storage. She will be frequently anti-det run etc. until being returned to flight status sometime in the future.
