Yeah Gods, desperation truly has hit a low point in the Labour Party.

By the look of it, Corbyns front bench is populated with London MP's... but Abbott is probably the single worst politician in the UK, if you exclude Blair, and is utterly toxic. I'm actually starting to think we are witnessing the death throes of the Labour party in its current form.

I would not worry about Abbot she is probably just a sleeping partner in the shadow cabinet.:highly_amused:

She has her tongue so far up Corbyn's butt, she could probably lick his eyebrows.

What has Dianne Abbott done that is toxic?

Apart from Jeremy Corbyn.. (sorry, but it was there)..

Open her mouth. :D

Well, she is quite possibly the most condescending person on the planet, and incredibly irritating. She rolls her eyes at every opportunity, and sits there shaking her head with her eyes closed while in the middle of a discussion, which is not only rude, but makes her look mentally ill.

Then there's her hypocrisy. Wasting tax payer money on portraits, sending her kids to private schools, undeclared earnings from the BBC etc. Hardly a model socialist.

She also seems to respect Mao as a "great moderniser", plays the race card at every opportunity, while also saying things along the lines of 'black mothers care more for their children than white ones', and 'white people are divisive' etc, etc, etc.

Don't like her either. But I'll reserve 'toxic' for those who really do damage through their malignancy - and there are some in British politics rights now - rather than a hypocrite with annoying manerisms. That's most of them.

.... we are witnessing the death throes of the Labour party in its current form.

I think the combination of the SNP, Corbyn and the long overdue boundary reforms make that a racing certainty.

There is talk of Blair making a return to politics. I think I'd rather have Corbyn.

You are starting to sound a little unpleasant now Tony.

That 'bag of sh***' is a Cambridge graduate. Are you?

Being a cambridge graduate is no guarantee of usefulness though Beermat ; )

Donald Maclean , Guy Burgess , 'Kim' Philby ,Anthony Blunt and John Cairncross were all highly educated traitors.

This thread is going nowhere. Play the ball, not the woman. If you want to criticise her thoughts and deeds, that is one thing, but criticising anybody based on the way they look is not acceptable.

I'll give it one last chance.

Bruce,

Not for the first time, I wonder whether we inhabit the same planet ? You might not like it but, personal criticism based on appearance is a fact of life.

We're all, in some way shape or form, judgmental. I am aware that this is a major crime in the Thought Police catalogue but, it will not alter human behaviour. Your pronouncement and those of a similar nature will simply drive matters 'underground'.

Many condemn tattoos; skin piercings; shaven heads; gold chains - the list is lengthy. If you're looking for employment and you present with any of these plus quite a few more, you might be the most desirable prospective employee but, in the eyes of most employers, your appearance will impede you.

I don't know whether you're objecting on a personal level or you're simply applying the Rules, either way you're 'whistling in the wind'.

John,

Its quite simple. I don't think its acceptable. End of story.

If you come on here and criticise Ms Abbott because you don't like what she looks like, I will remove your post.

If you come on here and criticise her based on something she has done or said with which you disagree, I will leave your post.

The same applies for any other individual. The fact that it happens doesn't make it acceptable.

On behalf of most of us, will you clear the air before I again have to dip my pen ? Are you objecting as a Moderator on behalf of the Rules of the Forum or, is this a personal objection unconnected with your moderation ?

My 'humbugometer' is in overdrive. I quite like Miss Abbot. I commented on her personal appearance to the extent that she has a beguiling smile and a ready sense of humour. Is this personal comment acceptable ?

John, You also suggested that she needed to lose weight. As I said quite clearly above - If you object to someone because of their looks, I will remove your post. That is me acting as a moderator.

I hope that you are not giving your own prejudices free rein. I hope that, as with all of us, you are governed by the Rules.

How would my prejudices influence this John?

As a moderator I have asked members not to make personal remarks about peoples appearance. That is all..
