    Hi All,
Inferno (Via Sky Cinema) If you like the last two films based on novels of Dan Brown you'll enjoy this third film IMHO...

    Starring:-Tom Hanks,Felicity Jones,Omar Sy,Ben Foster,Sidse Babett Knudsen,Irrfan Khan and Ana Ularu.

Famous symbologist Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) follows a trail of clues tied to Dante, the great medieval poet. When Langdon wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia, he teams up with Sienna Brooks (Felicity Jones), a doctor he hopes will help him recover his memories. Together, they race across Europe and against the clock to stop a madman (Ben Foster) from unleashing a virus that could wipe out half of the world's population.

No idea how this slipped through the net. Great cast, better wartime period detail than Nolan's Dunkirk.

25 million to make. Box office of about 5 million and it is a really good movie about the making of a movie about Dunkirk - Great timing huh?.

Now available on Blu-Ray, DVD and Download

I saw that one in Tesco the other day and was tempted to pick it up. Didn't, for some reason!

The reasons probably have something to do with the weirdly unhelpful title and the awful cover image.

Get back there and buy it. I have.

Might give it a whirl, then!

I've been revisiting the James Bond films recently, going from start to finish. Got up to Diamonds Are Forever so far.....

              Dead Sea

A monster-mystery movie with a small budget and a massive disappointment.

                Hi All,
Megan (Via Sky Cinema) Another low budget Sci-Fi that did not disappoint and easily watchable again the first hour flies past despite there
being none of the CGI theatrics that usually come with modern Sci-Fi genre films which makes a great change just a good watchable film that relies
on the actors if you like the genre you should like this...

                Starring:-Anya Taylor-Joy,Kate Mara,Chris Sullivan,Jennifer Jason Leigh,Paul Giamatti,Toby Jones,Michelle Yeoh, and Rose Leslie.

When artificial being "Morgan" (Anya Taylor-Joy) begins behaving unpredictably and attacks one of her handlers, corporate risk consultant Lee
(Kate Mara) is called in to decide her future. Senior boffin Dr Ziegler (Toby Jones) is reluctant to terminate the project and is backed by Morgan's
minders, including behaviour specialist (Rose Leslie) and "Mother" Michelle Yeoh. However, Lee is concerned they may have grown too close to
their subject... and she could be right. Chilling sci-fi thriller directed by Luke 'son of Ridley' Scott.

                  Hi All,
Crimson Peak(Via Sky Cinema) A somewhat disappointing Horror IMPO may be due to the review that Collider gave this that I watched in
the lead up to the cinematic release which was rather good and may have lead to my higher expectations, but hey everybody's different. While I
do think the CGI is excellent the story is drawn out at times, just a basic horror none the less watchable if you like the genre. just don't expect
to much from it horror wise from this usually good director Guillermo del Toro..

                  Starring:-Mia Wasikowska,Jessica Chastain,Tom Hiddleston,Charlie Hunnam,Jim Beaver,Burn Gorman,Jonathan Hyde,Leslie Hope,Sofia Wells,
                  Doug Jones and Javier Botet.

After marrying the charming and seductive Sir Thomas Sharpe, young Edith (Mia Wasikowska) finds herself swept away to his remote gothic mansion
in the English hills. Also living there is Lady Lucille, Thomas' alluring sister and protector of her family's dark secrets. Able to communicate with the
dead, Edith tries to decipher the mystery behind the ghostly visions that haunt her new home. As she comes closer to the truth, Edith may learn that
true monsters are made of flesh and blood.

Watched "Keeping up with the Joneses" (2016).

Not a bad film. I believe it's a remake of a film with the same name ?

So, still going through the Bond films just now.

Got up to For Your Eyes Only, which sees Bond trying to retrieve a secret "ATAC" device before it's recovered and sold to the baddies.

                      Pretty good fun.

                        Hi All,
Forsaken (Via Sky Cinema) A nice not to shabby low budget western starring the Father and Son Sutherlands, while the story is a predictable
revenge it has enough in it to keep you watching if you like the genre it is watchable, but just don't expect a Clint Eastwood style of western just
enjoy it for what it is I did.....

                        Starring:-Kiefer and Donald Sutherland,Brian Cox,Michael Wincott,Aaron Poole,Demi Moore,Greg Ellis,Siobhan Williams,Dylan Smith,Chris Ippolito,
Landon Liboiron,Wesley Morgan,Christopher Rosamond and Michael Therriault.

In 1872, after abandoning his gun and reputation as a quick-draw killer, John Henry Clayton (Kiefer Sutherland) returns to his hometown in hopes of repairing his relationship with his estranged father (Donald Sutherland). But a local gang on the orders of James McCurdy (Brian Cox) is terrorizing the town, and John Henry may be the only one who can stop them.

While on vacation with my family in France, we went to the cinema and watched The Dark Tower (in French).

It wasn't too bad but check out my comment on Rotten Tomatoes

Other critics said that the villain was completely miscast.

I've almost come to the end of the Bond films, since now I'm in Daniel Craig territory.

This morning it was the divine Casino Royale, followed by Quantum of Solace after lunch.

Cool. I love Bond movies. I haven't seen the Lazenby movie, and I didn't like Timothy Dalton. Pierce Brosnan was OK. No real comment on Craig. Ultimately I would like to have the collection when I ever get my own house with humongous man-cave including wine cellar and movie theatre!

A bit of trivia from Wicked Pedia :

                              Smoking

Bond is a heavy smoker, at one point smoking 70 cigarettes a day.[57] Bond has his cigarettes custom-made by Morland of Grosvenor Street, mixing Balkan and Turkish tobacco and having a higher nicotine content than normal; the cigarettes have three gold bands on the filter.[58] Bond carried his cigarettes in a wide gunmetal cigarette case which carried fifty; he also used a black oxidised Ronson lighter.[59] The cigarettes were the same as Fleming's, who had been buying his at Morland since the 1930s; the three gold bands on the filter were added during the war to mirror his naval Commander's rank.[58] On average, Bond smokes sixty cigarettes a day, although he cut back to around twenty five a day after his visit to a health farm in Thunderball:[59] Fleming himself smoked up to 80 cigarettes a day.[60]

Lazenby was ok, but if you had to have an Aussie play Bond in that timeframe, I would have preferred Rod Taylor...who really could have pulled it off being a believable tough guy who could also be very charming.
                                Far better than Moore, IMHO.

Diana Riggs was in that one, but her period make-up and clothes make her look horrific in a 1970-way. A far cry from the elegance and class she had in The Avengers.

Lots of shots of AB204s though.
There are two sides to every story. The truth is usually somewhere between the two.

J Boyle - You know I have to agree with you there Rod Taylor was a very underrated actor in my opinion....

We Still Steal The Old Way the sequel to We Still Kill The Old Way Although low budget and starring recognisable Tv actors the
film IMHO is watchable just a good old fashioned crime flick with a bit of humour thrown in, if you like the genre you will like this....

In addition to being a fine actor, Rod Taylor was a nice guy, or at least he was to me.

He also did his fair share of aviation films....

I got through to the last Bond film - Spectre - the other day. Not as great as some of the others, but watchable.

The Wolf Man was the last film I watched - both the 1941 version and the 2010 version. The '41 version has bags of atmosphere, and great performances (and the gorgeous Evelyn Ankers!), while the remake has great transformation scenes and gory bits!

(Via Sky Cinema) This Australian film is the sequel to Mystery Road but it is still a very good straightforward crime drama
that can easily be viewed again IMO. No special effects spectacle just action where needed with an easy to follow story...

                                        Tommy Lewis.

Indigenous detective Jay Swan arrives in the town of Goldstone to search for a missing person, and his simple duty becomes complicated when he uncovers a web of crime and corruption.
