    First of the Few

Since it was R.J. Mitchell's birthday yesterday, I popped this classic into the blu-ray player this morning. Looks great on blu-ray!

        Hi All,
Shadowlands. (Via Sky Cinema) Biopic about a chapter In the life of 'C.S.Lewis' when he meets and eventually falls in love with an American women,
bit of a weepy in the last 45mins you'll need a hanky ( Yes I did blub! ). Thought it was an excellent all-round well acted Drama especially since it's
from 1993 Anthony Hopkins at his best IMHO.....

        Starring:-Anthony Hopkins,Debra Winger,Edward Hardwicke,Joseph Mazzello,James Frain,Julian Fellowes,Michael Denison and John Wood with a couple of
early appearances by now established actors.

        C. S. Lewis (Anthony Hopkins), the renowned author of "The Chronicles of Narnia" series, is a bachelor and Oxford University professor who spends his free
time debating with fellow academics at a pub. Although he seems entirely uninterested in love, Lewis agrees to marry Joy Gresham (Debra Winger), an
American writer who is looking to secure British citizenship. Their arrangement soon becomes a romance, and, when Joy is diagnosed with terminal cancer,
        their bond grows even stronger.

          Hi All,
Tiger Raid watched this low budget film via (Sky Cinema) not to bad just a good bit of a drama between the two main characters, along with
supporting cast members where necessary through the film with an unexpected ending. It's not to everybody's taste as it focuses only on two
characters and would seem boring to most but IMO they carry it off....

          Starring:-Brian Gleeson,Damien Molony,Sofia Boutella,Rory Fleck Byrne,Evan Khader,Majid Rahan,Murtada Dakhel and Khaled Sabbagh.

Two cold-blooded mercenaries form a dark bond as they travel through the deserts of Iraq.

            Hacksaw Ridge

True story of conscientious objector Desmond Doss, who helped rescue over 70 wounded troops during the battle of Okinawa, then received the Medal of Honor for his efforts.

Pretty decent fare, I'll admit, but I'll give it another watch at some point.

            T2 - Trainspotting

The gang's all back for another rousing adventure through Edinburgh. While maybe not as memorable as the original, it's still a worthy follow-up, and it's great to catch up with the boys again. Robert Carlyle steals the show.

Evil Dead/Evil Dead II/Army of Darkness

Sam Raimi's mad horror series revolving around anti-hero Ash Williams, and his struggles against the Deadites. Brilliant fun!

                    Hi All,
Jack Reacher via SKY Cinema quite good as far as I am concerned and should have really done better at the box office, still it is what it is a good action thriller and worth a gander if your into that genre....

                    Starring:-Tom Cruise,Cobie Smulders,Aldis Hodge,Danika Yarosh,Patrick Heusinger,Holt McCallany,Austin Hebert,Robert Catrini,Robert Knepper and
                    Jessica Stroup.

Investigator Jack Reacher (Tom Cruise) springs into action after the arrest of Susan Turner (Cobie Smulders), an Army major accused of treason.
Suspecting foul play, Jack embarks on a mission to prove that the head of his old unit is innocent. After crossing paths with the law, Reacher must
now go on the lam to uncover the truth behind a major government conspiracy that involves the death of U.S. soldiers.

                          Hi All,
The Legend Of Tarzan Not to bad just about watchable full of special effects mostly good but at times poor, also funny in a couple of places, another
fine performance by 'Christoph Waltz' playing a sleazy scumbag and not one utterance of 'Mother4ker' from 'Samuel Jackson' Still if you want to while away
an Hr&1/2 then give it a go, to be honest it's not as good as the 'Christopher Lambert' film 'Greystoke Legend Of Tarzan' but that's just my opinion.....

                          Starring:-Alexander Skarsgrd,Margot Robbie,Samuel L. Jackson,Christoph Waltz,Djimon Hounsou,Jim Broadbent,Casper Crump,Hadley Fraser,
                          Genevieve O'Reilly,Yule Masiteng,Mimi Ndiweni,Simon Russell Beale,Matt Cross,Madeleine Worrall and William Wollen.

It's been nearly a decade since Tarzan (Alexander Skarsgrd), also known as John Clayton III, left Africa to live in Victorian England with his wife Jane. Danger lurks on the horizon as Leon Rom (Christoph Waltz), a treacherous envoy for King Leopold, devises a scheme that lures the couple to the Congo. Rom plans to capture Tarzan and deliver him to an old enemy in exchange for diamonds. When Jane becomes a pawn in his devious plot, Tarzan must return to the jungle to save the woman he loves.

Watched a Russian scifi film with some strange translation subtitles, they weren't bad it was just some were translated to the wrong meaning for the word rather like translating "he punched him in the mug" and putting "cup" as the translation if you know what I mean, it was a very good story and superb effects. Suicide Squad. Via (SKY Cinema), A good addition to the 'DCU' would like to see the film with all the alleged 'Joker' edits restored as there are
meant to be quite a bit of him edited out, still all in all a good film that just keeps going for 2Hrs, just a shame the soundtrack never included
'Ballroom Blitz' like it does in the trailer would have made a great addition IMPO....

Now armed with government weapons, Deadshot (Will Smith), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Captain Boomerang, Killer Croc and other despicable
inmates must learn to work together. Dubbed Task Force X, the criminals unite to battle a mysterious and powerful entity, while the diabolical

Total ****, even for a superhero flick.

Hitchcock's 1954 film about ex-cat burglar Cary Grant has to clear himself of involvement in a resides of thefts along the Cote de Azure.

Grace Kelly looks great, something few women can do given the dated clothes, hair and makeup used in many old films.
