    Hi All,
Watched 'Enders Game' recorded via Film4 not what I expected good FX but basically not what the trailer leads you to imagine the film to be. You have to make your own mind up at the end of the day, a so-so Sci-Fi film that is just about watchable for a fan of that genre. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Orson Scott Card. Written and directed by Gavin Hood, the film stars As a Butterfield as Andrew "Ender" Wiggin, an unusually gifted child who is sent to an advanced military academy in outer space to prepare for a future alien invasion. The end of the film sets up a sequel but that apparently is very much on the back burner being as it was a cinematic release bombed....

    Starring:-Harrison Ford,Kyle Russell Clements,Hailee Steinfeld,Abigail Breslin,Viola Davis,Aramis Knight,Suraj Parthasarathy,Moiss Arias,
    Khylin Rhambo,Conor Carroll,Nonso Anozie,Jimmy Pinchak,Stevie Ray Dallimore,Andrea Powell,Caleb J. Thaggard,Jasmine Kaur,Tony Mirrcandani,
Brandon Soo Hoo,Cameron Gaskins and Orson Scott Card.

A temporal agent (Ethan Hawke) embarks on a final time-traveling assignment to prevent an elusive criminal from launching an attack that kills thousands of people.

        Hi All,
I watched 'Things to do in Denver when you're dead' last night via (Sky Cinema). A great cast with good acting with some now familiar faces in early roles, a couple of comic scenes as well, although I felt the story dragged at times in between the action scenes I really enjoyed the film on the whole though...

        Starring:-Andy Garcia,Christopher Lloyd,William Forsythe,Bill Nunn,Treat Williams,Jack Warden,Steve Buscemi,Fairuza Balk,Gabrielle Anwar,
        Christopher Walken,Michael Nicolosi,Bill Cobbs,Marshall Bell,Glenn Plummer,Don Stark,Willie Garson,Jenny McCarthy,Buddy Guy,Josh Charles,
        Sarah Trigger,Don Cheadle,Tiny Lister,Wiley Harker,Bill Bolender and Bill Erwin.

Ex-crook Jimmy "The Saint" Tosnia (Andy Garcia) is trying his best to go legitimate until he's dragged back into the world of crime for one last, seemingly simple mission. All Jimmy and his eccentric cronies have to do is intimidate their target. But they make a disastrous series of mistakes that result in the death of a woman connected to a powerful gangster. Before long, Mr. Shhh (Steve Buscemi), a notorious assassin who never slips up, is sent to take down Jimmy and his partners.

          Hi All,
I watched 'The Usual Suspects' (Via Sky Cinema) good action thriller with now well known stars early in their careers

          Starring:- Stephen Baldwin,Gabriel Byrne,Benicio del Toro,Kevin Pollak,Kevin Spacey,Chazz Palminteri,Pete Postlethwaite,Suzy Amis,Giancarlo Esposito,Dan Hedaya and Peter Greene

"The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist," says con man Kint (Kevin Spacey), drawing a comparison to the most enigmatic criminal of all time, Keyser Soze. Kint attempts to convince the feds that the mythic crime lord not only exists, but is also responsible for drawing Kint and his four partners into a multi-million dollar heist that ended with an explosion in San Pedro Harbor - leaving few survivors.

              We Bought a Zoo

Based on the story of Dartmoor Zoological Park, this sees Matt Damon and his young family struggle to open up a zoo they bought.

Pretty good, actually. Damon is always watchable, and the story is genuinely intriguing enough to warrant getting hold of the book it's based on.

                Hi All,

Last Sunday I watched a very disappointing low budget supposed horror released in the UK as 'Monster Hunter' everywhere else as 'Dark Was The Night' ? ? ? Just like all my school reports had on them 'Could Have Done Better' Essentially a good story based on a 'Native American' folk tale that really deserved a better telling, the whole film was dead from start to finish especially dialogue but more because the film used crappy CGI, just pants and not recommended IMHO only if you want to be bored to death....

                Starring:-Kevin Durand,Lukas Haas,Bianca Kajlich,Ethan Khusidman,Nick Damici,Steve Agee,Heath Freeman,Sabina Gadecki,Minerva Scelza,Joseph Pallister and Charles Parshley.

When a logging company decimates a forest in a small town, a sheriff (Kevin Durand) and his deputy (Lukas Haas) must confront the violent and unexplainable events that follow.

                  The Omen trilogy

Beginning with 1976's classic horror, The Omen trilogy of films opens up the possibility of the existence of the Antichrist in modern times, first as a child, then as a teen, and finally an adult.

The original film is a certified classic - genuinely scary, full of memorable sequences (plate glass decapitation, anyone??), and a fantastic score, backed up with great performances from Gregory Peck and Lee Remick.

The second has more gore, but less scares, but is still a solid watch, but it lacks the punch of the first film.

The third is watchable, but with a number of plot holes, and a lack of a thrilling score (although the hunt sequence is pretty decent). Sam Neill makes a good baddie, though.

                    Hi All,
I watched 'Buried' via BBCi last night and despite only one actor and set in the confines of a box that he is buried in it was quite good, mind you if you don't have the will power to watch the same scene for the whole film it will definitely not be for you but I thought for what it was good with a unexpected ending...

Starring:- Ryan Reynolds and the voices of the following :- Jos Luis Garca Prez as Jabir,Robert Paterson as Dan Brenner,Stephen Tobolowsky as Alan Davenport,Samantha Mathis as Linda Conroy,Ivana Mio as Pamela Lutti,Warner Loughlin as Maryanne Conroy / Donna Mitchell / number lady,Erik Palladino

A civilian truck driver in Iraq, Paul Conroy (Ryan Reynolds) falls victim to a band of insurgents. An unknown length of time later, Paul awakes in a coffin, with little more than a lighter, a cell phone, and his ever-growing anxiety. Faced with a dwindling oxygen supply and a dying battery, Paul must fight panic, despair and delirium as he awaits a rescue that might not arrive in time.

                      Hi All,
I watched the very underrated 'Thunderbolt and Lightfoot' via (Sky Cinema) have watched it a few times and always enjoy the film....

                      Starring:-Clint Eastwood,Jeff Bridges as Lightfoot,George Kennedy,Geoffrey Lewis,Gary Busey,Catherine Bach,Jack Dodson,Gregory Walcott,Vic Tayback

"The Happiest Days of Your Life", which was on BBC2 at the weekend.
The forerunner to the St Trinians films. For a 1950 film, it was quite good.

                          Hi All,
Watched 'The Visit' via (Sky Cinema) last Wednesday night, It's meant to be a horror but to be honest creepy would describe it better, the film is shot as a video blog from the point of the kids but the filming is per a normal film and not your typical found footage or live video blog. A good waste of 94'mins if you have nothing else to watch. This film is supposed by all accounts to be a great film, but I had guessed the outcome miles before the twist towards the end. If you like creepy films then this is for you and despite what I put here is worth a gander...

                          Starring:-Olivia DeJonge,Ed Oxenbould,Kathryn Hahn,Deanna Dunagan,Peter McRobbie,Benjamin Kanes,Celia Keenan,Jon Douglas Rainey, Brian Gildea,
Shawn Gonzalez,Richard Barlow,Erica Lynne Marszalek,Shawn Gonzalez and Michael Mariano.

Becca (Olivia DeJonge) and younger brother Tyler (Ed Oxenbould) say goodbye to their mother as they board a train and head deep into Pennsylvania farm country to meet their maternal grandparents for the first time. Welcomed by Nana (Deanna Dunagan) and Pop Pop (Peter McRobbie), all seems well until the siblings start to notice increasingly strange behavior from the seemingly charming couple. Once the children discover a shocking secret, they begin to wonder if they'll ever make it home.

                                Hi All,
                                Larry66,
It's a film that you can watch again and again IMHO enjoyable romp with a quick unstoppable forward moving story...

I watched 'Maggie' last night via (Sky Cinema) A different type of 'Arnold Schwarzenegger' film in a very different type of zombie apocalyptic world that you could conceive of happening. Not your overflowing zombie slaughter after zombie slaughter with gore everywhere just a good believable story and makes you think what if and you can empathise with 'Arnies' character and the choice he is given near the end. Which would you choose is my question ? Just a good Drama/Horror film and well worth watching if you like either one or the other genres IMHO......

                                Starring:-Arnold Schwarzenegger,Abigail Breslin,Joely Richardson,Douglas M. Griffin,J.D. Evermore,Rachel Whitman Groves,Jodie Moore,Bryce Romero,
Raeden Greer,Aiden Flowers and Carsen Flowers.

After his daughter (Abigail Breslin) is infected with a virus that transforms her into a zombie, a small-town farmer (Arnold Schwarzenegger) will stop at nothing to save her.

I watched 'Infiny' (via Sky Cinema) a good low budget Sci/Fi film without the millions spent on 'CGI' with a good twist at the end just actors and a set doing what all others could learn from IMO if you like the genre you should like this..... Starring:-Daniel MacPherson,Grace Huang,Luke Hemsworth,Bren Foster,Luke Ford,Dwaine Stevenson,Louisa Mignone,Tess Haubrich,Harry Pavlidis,Kevin Copeland,Andy Rodoreda,Richard Huggett,Paul Winchester,Brendan Clearkin and Matt Mintoas.

I watched 'Red 2' recorded via (Film4) just as funny as the first film especially the car chase in 'Paris' and a good scrap 'Byung-hun' and a few coppers in a 'Moscow' shop, well worth a watch just keeps going from start to finish and one of those films easily watchable again..

                                      Starring:- Bruce Willis John Malkovich,Helen Mirren,Mary-Louise Parker,Anthony Hopkins,Catherine Zeta-Jones,Byung-hun,Brian Cox,David Thewlis,Neal McDonough Garrick Hagon,Tim Pigott-Smith,Philip Arditti,Jong-Kun Lee,Mitchell Mullen,Martin Sims,Tristan D. Lalla,Natalie Buscombe,Emma Heming Willis,Steven Berkoff and Titus Welliver.

Former CIA black-ops agent Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) and his old partner, Marvin Boggs (John Malkovich), are caught in the grip of retirement -- but that soon changes when a powerful Cold War weapon known as Nightshade resurfaces decades after its disappearance. With assassins hot on their trail, Frank and his team set out to find the one scientist (Anthony Hopkins) who can unravel the mystery of Nightshade and help them save themselves -- and the world.

                                          Hi All,
Daz, You really are into some classic stuff matey AAWIL closely followed by The Howling 2nd two well made horrors especially AAWIL the soundtrack the specific scene of the first transformation excellent and the film still holds it's own today where as some of it's successors have fallen by the wayside...

I tried to watch via (Sky Cinema) the found footage film 'The Rendelsham UFO Incident' (A retitled Hanger 10) could only stomach 40mins of it absolute pants. If you want to watch three people prancing around with hand held cameras and really bad CGI (That alone should have sent alarm bells ringing) then give it a shot but it really relies on the story of the real incident and looked to be copying what some of the actual event reports stated rather than a new story of a second event occuring as this was advertised as 0/10.

Anyway back to last night I watched a funny at times UK crime caper that is actually based on true events from the 70's and well recommended especially
for 'Jason Statham' fans well worth a viewing IMHO.....

After Terry assembles his crew of misfits and begins the operation, he finds that there are other agendas at play, and powerful players who have designs on the vault's contents.
