This is a pretty interesting story, along with some good photographs.

Always had some duct tape in my toolbox when operating away from base - together with safety lockwire, Prestik blue (is that still around?) and assorted O-ring seals and sealant.
Never had a bear problem - birds can inflict some nasty damage, though.

Is the story true? I was sent a link to the photos by a friend earlier but I wasnt sure if the story was true or not as we all too often see random photos of a plane damaged with stories that often have reasons stated that are not true.

Next time use the duct tape on the bear to prevent it ripping up your airplane:p

Lions would chew tires in Southern Africa. You had to pile branches around the plane to keep them away.

I was boarded a KLM flight from Eindhoven to Heathrow on one the Fokkers (F-27 ?) and the pilot was supervising duck/duct tape being wrapped around one of the props.

I don't do that trip often any more.... Eindhoven airport is a nice place to be (very quiet) and you often see the KC-135's come and go as well as the B-25 that is based there (was based there?)
