Couple of things for you today, the 5 Day Aviation forecasts are now being updated at 0930 each morning (3 hours earlier than previously).

Have you checked out the Aviation Weather Information Service yet? Have a look at http://www.awis.org.uk and take a look at the planning forecasts.

If you need us we are here all weekend. To talk to a forecaster call 090 666 444 80 (£1.50 p/min) or 01902 895252 to pay by credit card (£11.75 per call).

Weather School on 11th March is now full, so apologies to all of you who were on the waiting list...I'll get the next School date to you asap.

Have a great weekend,

WEEKEND WEATHER FORECAST
==========================

Issued: 0930 Friday 17th February 2006

SATURDAY (see http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/brack0a.gif)
=========
A complex area of low pressure across the UK and Ireland is going to maintain the unstable airflow through all areas. An occluded front is expected to be over southern coasts of Ireland and the south of England during the course of the day. A further occluded front will be affecting the far northeast of Scotland, and this is going to be moving slowly southwest.
For southern Ireland, the far south of Wales, southern and south-eastern counties of England Saturday is likely to be a fairly dull day. Outbreaks of rain associated with the front will be largely showery, although a few heavier bursts can't be ruled out as well, these more especially through the southeast. Little change is expected in the afternoon.
For the rest of England, Wales, Ireland and southern Scotland it will be a brighter day. Variable amounts of cloud and some sunny spells, but also scattered showers.
The north and northeast of Scotland will be cloudier with periods of rain and sleet here, this turning to snow as it moves inland.
Winds will be SW 12-17kt (F5) through the Channel, E 15-18kt (F5) over northern and eastern Scotland, VRB 4-8kt (F2-F3) elsewhere.

SUNDAY (see http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/brack1a.gif)
=======
Low pressure will be deepening and will track through northeast France on Sunday. I am still a little unsure about the track of this low, although on it's current course it would bring an occluded front through southeast England. A further weak trough will be drifting down the coasts of northeast England, as another showery trough affects southern Ireland.
A cloudy day over southeast England with a risk of rain throughout. This may be sleety at times, especially over the hills. Winds increasing too. Sleet or snow showers are likely close to the trough in northeast England, with further wintry showers at anytime over the east of Scotland.
For more western parts of England, Wales, Scotland and all but the south of Ireland the day should be brighter but cold. Sunny spells are the order of the day, although an isolated shower can't be ruled out.
Winds will be NE 10-15kt (F4) but NE 18-22kt (F5-F6) over southern and southeast England as well as eastern Scotland.
