Reported to be in the sea, inverted.

    Horrible news.

Flying into Schiphol airport at around that time, I was appalled at how poor the weather was. 300-feet low ceilings, less than half a km of visibility, drizzle and no horizon... Not great for flying (even IFR), and certainly not good for SAR either. Things are not looking good for the pilot of the Cirrus...

Updated information has it that the Cirrus took off from Gloucester and was heading to Osnabruck, Germany. The only person aboard, a German pilot, is feared lost.

            sums it up nicely.

The body of the 76-year old German pilot from near Gutersloh has still not been found.

G-ZOGT fell apart on impact, reports of the Cirrus SR20 lying upside down were not correct. Some wheels had been sticking upside down in the air.

As of 20.00 hrs CET this Tuesday the Zierikzee, a Dutch Navy Minehunter ship, is still looking for debris.

The body of the 76yo German pilot has been recovered in the sea off Schoorl village by Dutch Navy divers directed by the Dutch Coastguard.

Dutch Aviation Police has started an inquest.
