-If you can locate a copy of Lotus Approach (Not made for at least fifteen years) it will do all you need and is quite easy to learn.
Used to come as part of a Lotus Suite with a spreadsheet and a word processor
Will run on Windows 7 with a bit of fiddling apparently

-If you do not mind me asking, why do you want to move away from Excel? Except for uploading the photos it does everything you need. Microsoft Access does the same, againt without uploading photos, but can better handle large volumes of data.
What you can also do is use Adobe Lightroom. It's a photo editing and databasing program. You can assign keywords to each photo. Thus you can assign B737, KLM, AMS etc etc. I do not use the program myself but I've been told it is possible to upload the data from Excel as well.

-So in Excel you can search for (say) All Tornados seen in Scotland during 2002?
If so, any chance you could let me in on the secret as it will solve a huge work issue I am facing?

You can just drop in a filter:

Or create a pivot table:

Hi all
I am looking for an easy to use database that I can serach by date, aircraft type, location and registration that I can transfer the info I have in my excel database log into it. I'd like ideally to be able to upload pictures as well of each aircraft if possible.
Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks
Rich
