Just out on the XBox 360 (PS3 etc), this is a half-decent little WW2-set shooter!

You play a French pilot named DeeDee, who gets recruited to fly covert operations by various individuals throughout the course of the game. You get a healthy choice of types to fly (from WW1 scouts to WW2 heavy metal) through almost 50 missions.

There's also the option to play online, and in single-player "quick combat" modes.

Graphics are very nice, and there is the option of flying the planes from nicely-rendered cockpits. The controls very easy to master in arcade mode - flight-sim mode takes a bit of getting used to, but if you just want to fly around and kill stuff, you'll probably not bother much with it!

My one bugbear with it (so far) is that the Spitfire, a nicely modelled MkVc with a four-cannon wing, has a couple of small inaccuracies - the underwing radiator layout and the fin flash being reversed - though this isn't the only game to make that mistake!

Great fun, though. I've been playing it for a few hours now and I'm quite hooked!

Just a tiny update - I am SERIOUSLY addicted! :D

I've now figured out the flight-sim controls a bit better, and this allows for some serious dogfighting to be done - especially at low level!

I've just been up against a massive swarm of Huns over Berlin - including flying below rooftop level along a city street, with '109s and '190s chasing me the whole way!

This is WAY more fun than IL-2! :D
