-Nice report, love the Dash 8s. I narrowly missed one at the weekend unfortunatley and got stuck with another 146 instead

-Nice report! :)
Did your Dash-8s have leather seats? What was the seat pitch like? Is the Dash-8 noisy?
Kind Regards

-Thanks for the comments. No neither of them had leather seats although they were comfortable seats with the upholstery. I thought the seat pitch was fine although I'm not quite sure on the exact measurements. Lastly, On the way seat 8A is right next to the propeller and so was quite noisy, so on the return I got seat 14A at the very back and I though it was much quiter, although when on the ground the view was a bit obscured due to engine emissions.

-It's interesting that MAN-ABZ takes 1h15m on a Dash-8, I've flown LHR-ABZ many times and that takes on average only 1h10m on a 320/757...makes those Dash-8 look slow. I'm surpised that BACX are competitive on this route as BMIR operate RJ145s on all their flights.

Dash 8 burns less fuel than the ERJ, and the Dash has 1 extra seat than the 145, so will do a nice profit!
Well BA hope lol!

Well, I arrived at Aberdeen (Dyce) airport in plenty of time for my flight, only to be greeted with a three quarters of an hour delay! It isn't the biggest airport ever and so not many movements.
I decided to use the Self-service check-ins for the first time, quite easy to use and put my luggage through fast-track luggage.
I knew it was going to be a Dash8-300 as I have flown this route before, although I hoped for an EMB145 as these operate the route on a weekend.
Finally the aircraft arrived 40 mins late due to the technical problem at Manchester: G-NVSB.
The cabin crew were really friendly. Due to the shortness of the flight a sandwich of either cheese or beef was handed out, washed down witha complementary drink from the bar. Our ETA into Manchester was 17:15, 30mins behind schedule, meaning that I missed both direct trains to Leeds and so I changed at Manchester Picadilly.
Return date: Tuesday 4th April 2005
I arrived at Manchester at 12.00pm for my flight at 17:15 so that I could have the chance to visit the aviation shop on level 13 of terminal one's car park. I bought a A321 model. I saw my aircraft arrive on stand 141, G-BRYX. We departed a rainy Manchester at 17:20 and arrived in Aberdeen at 18:35, 15mins ahead of schedule. After getting of to a bumpy climb we were soon established at our cruising altitude of 17000FT. Again a sandwich was handed out and a drink (I got 2). The crew were superb, with updating us on the progress of our flight. We approached round the north of Aberdeen over oldmeldrum before touch down.
I asked Emily one of our Air hostesses where she had been today and she said she did MAN-ABZ, ABZ-MAN, MAN-ABZ(I was on this one) then she had ABZ-MAN left.
Lastly the only criticism of the Dash8-300 that I have is the fact that with the propellers spinning, it is hard to hear the captain's announcements sometimes. Other than that A brilliant aircraft to fly in!!!
Finally forgot to say a couple of photos I took at manchester should hopefully appear on the main forum, including one of my inbound aircraft G-BRYX.
