-RE: MD80 climb rate?
it will be somthing like 1500fpm on takeoff, this will be to make the noise restrictions, so that it reaches a certain height before it leaves the airfield atz.

-RE: MD80 climb rate?
The MD80 and DC-8 are NOT the same!!!
The MD80/MD-90 is a DC-9 Deivative, same as the Boeing 717.
Don't know about actual climb rate, but they always seemed steep watching LX MD80's takeoff when I worked at BSL.
Sitting in them, sometimes I feel a steep climb, sometimes I don't, so I really can't help you much...

Can somebody tell me the climb rate of the DC8/MD80?
I saw one taking off in Brussels yesterday, and was really amazed by the speed at which it disappeared in the clouds!
