    Embraer 145

mikair. Just wondering if anyone out there has flown on a EMB 145 regional jet and if so what did you think.
I just recently flew from manchester to Frankfurt and return on one with B.A.regional and was very impressed with the quiet cabin, leg room and comfy seats

I have'nt flown on the EMB145, but a family member has. (MAN-AMS with BA regional) They stressed how impressed they had been with the flight and the leg room inparticular.

The EMB-145 is a nice looking plane I have to agree. Never been on one though. Just wanted to comment for those that didn't know this piece of info. The EMB-145 is going to be operated by the Hellenic (Greek) Air Force in the AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System) role. It has a datalink capability that will allow it to work very closely with Greece's three air defense fighter types, the Mirage 2000, F-16 Fighting Falcon, and F-4 Phantom II. Just thought you guys might like that bit of info. I think Brazil is also going to use the EMB-145 in that role as well.

yeh brazil designed it on the embraer jet and has sold it to mexico too as maratime patrol (2) and awacs (1).

i think it has great export potential too as the origonal saab regional prop plane it was based on dosen't seam so great

I love the ERJ 145 and the 135,mainly because of its shape is so streamline which helps it climb extremely quickly. No ERJ's have ever been into GCI which is a shame because of something to do with runway size they cannot operate the aircraft in at full capaity. When iu was at Southamptonit was amazing seeing all the BA regional 145's,most of the services from SOU are run by a 145.Great aircraft!

I have worked for an airline using the EMB145, so I flew it during a year almost every week and I quite enjoy this aircraft. Initially I didnt like it since I found a bit narrow and with the racks too low. But after being in my seat the space was very generous and the windows which were much bigger than other similar airlines gave it a nice an widebody look. The cabin is spectacular with a really modern technology. Its not really stable especially in strong winds. However its really powerfull and taking off one feels projected to the back of the seats. galleys tend to be really wide for a plane this size and toilets are quite spacious. The level of noise is absolutely low even in take off. Just one disadvantage. If one seats at the back, its like flying on a pencil. For fat people is not really wide especially if you are seated on the right which is the sole seat row.

I flew on a Ba regional one once on a special trip around the north of England. I quite liked it, flet and looked a bit like a private jet. I also like planes which are not too large as you can get off quicker !!

Not flown on an ERJ-145, but a lot of people seem to like flying on them. Hopefully one day I will...

I've flown on a CRJ-200LR and I thought is was a bit cramped, but was a nice little aircraft all round. The only reason I say cramped is due to the lack of headroom (then again, I am 6ft 4 inches tall!)

The EMB 145 is an extremely successfull a/c. It dominates movements with BMI at my local-Leeds Bradford. They have just announced a new 145 service linking LBA with Cork.

Best route I've been on is JNB - Ndola (northern Zambia)

2 hour flight on ERJ-135, usually about 12 pax! Feels like you're actually on an executive jet when there is that much room to spread out.

Also - BA periodically have a -145 mooching around in the Isle of Man and it seems to operate actual services from there. Not sure where to though.

They were supposedly the future of Manx Airlines!

It's a nice looking aircraft but not popular with majority of pax, most find it cramped and uncomfortable. No cabin baggage space either, seating config is 1 and 2 with just one overhead stowage locker only just big enough to take a small brief case. I think the CRJ200 has more space for an aircrft of a similar size.
