Pakistan welcomes decision to lift
ban on PIA overflights:
Islamabad on Monday reacted cautiously to New Delhi's decision to lift overflight ban on Pakistan International Airlines aircraft.
"It was a step in the desired direction," foreign office spokesperson Aziz Ahmed Khan said in Islamabad.
However, he added that India had to do more to deescalate tension.
He said the Pakistan government was awaiting a report from the charge de affairs of the high commission in New Delhi, who had been informed of India's decision.
A detailed reaction would follow after receiving the report, he said
