How much do I need to buy the company, and get it started?

Just a guess, but they may have had a problem attracting biz class customers. A lot of big companies prohibit travel on "African" airlines due to concerns over safety (true or false is a separate argument!).
At last count:
Deutsche Bank
Dresdner Bank
PricewaterhouseCoopers
KPMG
E&Y
Deloitte & Touche/Arthur Andersen
Goldman Sachs
Linklaters
.....
That's the ones I know about, having talked to employees/partners at one time or another. A separate point is that most of the above companies have "preferred airlines" which staff have to use whenever they can. My own employer uses BA, with SAA to be used when necessary.

The airline didnt kick off because its financers backed off at the end moment after a scuffle with the management.

I just read an article about this airline, quite weird really, they never actually got started? They kept prolonging their first flight.
Any idea why?
