'The Herald' newspaper today published a very readable feature on Concorde G-BOAA, currently the star exhibit at The Scottish National Museum of Flight... :D

The lack of paragraph spacing seems to be a problem this week with The Herald online, but it's much nicer in print and with photos too.

Its a good article - im very tempted to try to fit in a visit when i can.

I went on a walkaround of the prototype Concorde at Duxfoprd and was expecting big things when it was announced that MAN was getting one, but dissapointingly it seems to be in the clutches of non-visionaries who prefer to keep it locked up apart from Wedding ceremonies and a few escorted tours on a couple of weekends each year. The RJX is simmilarly locked up and sitting in a corner looking sad.

I can't for the life of me see the sense in this - the Concorde at Duxford is open for people to troop round when they want - i am sure that tickets made available from the nearby aviation shop at MAN for a few pounds each would generate income to contribute toward upkeep.

No doubt in a year or so they will announce that it is rusting away and they arnt making enough money to make it safe enough to continue to allow public access......
