After the past debate about pilot's licences, why am I now wondering about driving licences?

    Andy

PS: The website initially looks glossy but nothing works (no surprise there then) - would anyone seriously put any money into this after the AlphaNone debacle?

That's the sad thing about this new venture. This time it's not for Martin Halstead, it's for charities. Does anyone else think that with his previous track record he is liable to let them down just as he has let down the employees of AlphaOne?

It's almost as though he's thinking that because AlphaOne has been such a success, he's distancing himself from the project and trying to regain credibility by his support of these charities. But then again, if he does it increases his profile and he gets to drive the Gumball Rally. Perhaps past experience would suggest it would be a more meaningful gesture to donate the 40,000 entrance fee to the charities and not bother with the race (which isn't a race anyway) or am I being cynical?

We seem to be drifting away from commercial aviation, chaps.

Can we keep this one on-topic, please?

Having said that, maybe it's time to draw a discreet veil over the whole sorry story and move on?

Thats a bit hopefull, isnt it?

Agree about the on-topic thing. Mr H is entitled to a private life and interests outside of aviation and its a bit unfair to suggest that the charity car driving thing will be as "eventfull" as the airline..

Lets be magnanimous enough to allow him a clean piece of paper on non-A1 activities until such time as he might prove us wrong.

            Michael

              10 car breaks down!

Back on topic - Did "his" Jetstreams actually get the updates to the TCAS (?) they needed? Did they reach the IOM after getting fitted or does anyone know their current duties/location(s)?
              Regards, Andrew

And more to the point - does anybody care?

I concurr. This thread is almost as bad as the 'hello' thread in the GD forum. One of the mods, put a lock on this thing already!

This thread has no more real value.

MOD EDIT: That is plainly true since the airline that never was seems to have died completely.

Thread locked. It will be reopened should anything occur. If you want to discuss Gumball Rallies that is more suited to a car forum, or GD at the very least.
