-Hi
Nice shots. Remember them good old days, Britannia B737-200's along with the Aer Lingus & Capital Shorts 360's, Air Uk F27's, and British Midland with the DC9's to Heathrow. Use to wake me up every morning at 07:00 when the first DC9 Flight BD411 to Heathrow left.
Don't get woken up now with bmi using Embrears and Airbus A319's. I still here the odd early Jet2 B737-300 departure or B757's with them RB211 Engines. And thats only if they are using 14 for departure.
Only thing thats left now off the noisey things is the Ryanair 737-200's, Saying that they'll be gone by end off next month. Bring back the Balkan TU154's anyday I say.

-I think it (or they?) were leased from Air-Cymru hence the Welsh-Lad registration. It was superceded by DC9-15 series

-Interesting to see a photo of Jat 727 YU-AKA; I flew on this a/c from LHR to Ljubljana in 1985 but it unfortunately crashed @ 5 years later whilst on lease to a Turkish company.(Hence photos are quite rare) Back in the 1980s, Yugoslavia was very popular with British holidaymakers; there were many services into regional UK airports operated by JAT(DC9,727,733, even 707), Aviogenex(TU134, 727) and Inex-Adria(DC9, MD80)

-Great shots. The traffic levels were much smaller but seem much more interesting than at present!

Here are a few more shots from the 1980's post runway extension. Hope they bring back a few memories.
