-More pics from Shanghai - Pudong which is the main international airport. No problems with taking pics. One pic is of the speed reading from the Maglev train and yes it does go that quick - very impressive
Yes, that maglev is faster than any plane - even Concorde.
Does the layout of the maglev line and runways leave any spots where it is easy to see the planes from train or trains from plane windows?
Also I wonder about the interior. You said 390 seconds? From doors closing to doors open? The picture shows suspiciously many seatbacks. If they have a lot of seats and limited aisles, can you find and reach an empty seat before the train accelerates? And how does it feel to be caught standing on the acceleration or deceleration?

Yes, at least on the runway. I think the Concordes had huge headaches with their tires - had to change them all the time, and eventually they were brought down by one. All that at speeds of less than 300 km/h!
So, a maglev overtaking a plane would be a nice view. If any are located in view of the runway...

-mag-lev station is between the 2 runways so no views. Acceleration is not a 'kick in the back' more progressive and constant - no problems standing up at any point as the 'g' force was minimal although passing the other train at that speed does get the attention. 2 trains passing at 100mph is noticable - try it at over double that.
390sec is 6.mins 30 - time from first moving to stopping was 7min 32 sec.
