And am I right in thinking that they're still the most profitable airline in the World? If they can put their prices down, and still acheive this, then it's good for everyone all-round.

Since joining this forum a short time ago I have changed my views on LCC's, i'm more tolerent of them and can see they are having a good effect, its just an impression I used to have

They are hardly forcing them out, BA still have loadsa flights from LGW, locos are competition to the full frills airlines, and are driving prices down, which is only good for the customer.

BA are now much more affordable, as they have to compete.

Full frills, same thing, well it's what I meant, I know there were'nt any at Bournemouth before but at other airports, e.g. Gatwick, they are forcing out BA, one of my favourite airlines.

But there were no full fare airlines at BOH (At least as far as I know, certianly not offering the range of destinations they get now), BOH has now really taken off, who actually likes 'full fare' airlines? Maybe full frills...

I agree they have been good for regional airports but they are forcing out full fares airlines which I like

What a prat, he doesn't like them because Stelio started them?

What would BOH have without FR, EZY, TOM and LS? The odd charter flight at most, LCCs have been brilliant for regional airports.

To make things clear, I am not against LCC's but against Ryanair, for some reason I hate them and I don't really like easyjet either - it's only because Stelios started it do I remotely like it.

Runway length is a problem at SOU particularly during the warmer months as higher temps will reduce performance. Am not really sure if this is the deciding factor for the Air Berlin move though as the loads on the Paderborn route are not great at all. The timings do not help much as there is only 1 rotation (early am) - so people using this service have to spend at least 1 night in Paderborn.

As for the other operators the do sometime have to put down at Bournemouth either to refuel or pick up pax - this happens on the Faro flights.

If SOU had Hurn's runway length and Hurn had SOU transport links, newish terminal etc.

As I said on another thread - the Fly-Be dominance at SOU is set to increase but at the expense of other airlines. BAA are putting all their eggs in 1 basket with SOU and Fly-be - lets hope that Fly-be do not let them down (as did BA regional)

Wozza, take the lcc's from Hurn and you are left with very little.

Certainly part of the problem with SOU is the runway length. Thats why they have lost Air Berlin I think

Indeed I have heard about this move, it has been posted on the Bournemouth airport website for sometime. It sounds like another good British regional airport has been invaded by the LCC's. Easyjet are also offering a service to Geneva soon,

    Why can't the LCC's leave.

All we need is for ryanair and easyjet to get into a huge price war and take each over out we should be fine.
