I was wondering if this might have an effect on continental's thoughts of serving glasgow and how they have been (indirectly) treated.
One of their busiest UK routes.....doubt they'll have any concerns.
When is the same thing likely to happen again......not for a long while. Noone will be concerned. CO will have been advised this was a short term problem with parking areas until new stand are completed next year.
Im sure CO have more important things to worry about.

-That is what i had thought by738 that it probably wouldn't be an issue with Continental management but on another forum it was mentioned that they wouldn't be very pleased with BAA GLA. Just wanted to find out what some other people were thinking about that.
Also just how capable is glasgow for handling the AN124

Glasgow is bursting at the seams right now and is in dire need of apron expansion (this is being actively addressed). An Antonov 124 would have difficulty being accomodated at GLA I would have thought? Which is why they generally go to PIK, a mere half hour's drive away down the newly upgraded M77.
Continental might be annoyed by a slight delay in an engine delivery, but as this is a rare circumstance, I'd have thought it better to delay one already delayed flight further, than risk clogging up the entire airport with the An-124?

I have heard that an AN124 was going to be dropping off a replacement engine for the CO 757 that went tech earlier this week. However, the GLA managemnt refused to let it land as there wasn't enough parking space to park it. So sent it down to PIK.
I was wondering if this might have an effect on continental's thoughts of serving glasgow and how they have been (indirectly) treated.
Also was it to do with the time that the AN124 would've been arriving or due to its size cos i'm sure it'd be able to be handled at GLA without any problems.
