Hi.

I posted a couple of pic's the other day from my plane spotting days as a youngster. They seemed to go down quite well, so I thought I'd post a few more. I have lots more, but most of them are well before I had a descent camera, and hence are not that good in quality. But enjoy anyway.

1. Anglia Air Cargo (Ex B-Cal) 707-338
2. Cal Air (Ex Laker Airways) Dc-10-10
3. Cathay Pacific 747-267
4. General view of Gatwick South, with sadly my only pic of B-Cal's only 747.
5. Very Old Northwest Orient 747-151
6. People Express 747-238

More please. Any lack of quality will be more than compensated for by the rarity value of the subject. Post as many as you like.

That Peoples Express 747-238 is an ex Qantas bird that went on to serve with Continental after their acquisition of Peoples Express

Nice pics...As said by others, never mind the quality its just nice to see some oldies! IMO spotting was definately more interestig then. The 707 in the first batch was in fact operated by Anglo Cargo who I seem to remember took delivery of the first main deck cargo door equiped B757 weeks before going bust. Does anyone else have info on that? :)

Great shots; if only I could get my scanner to work then I could post some similar ones. You mentioned BCAL's only 747; they operated 5 a/c just prior to the BA merger.

Anglo's 707 brings back some memories fo me, I often went to LHR to turn their 707's, not Gatwick though.
The 757 was leased from Ansett, it wasn't the first 757F & wasn't ideally suited to Anglo's operation. I only saw it twice & failed to photograph it on both occasions

Maybe not in 1983. ;) I still have my copy(s) of "World Airline Fleets" from this era. At this time there was only 1, although I am happy to be corrected.

The a/c in question was G-BJXN "Mungo Park-The Scottish Explorer" (Ex N611BN).

And Yes, the 707 in the photo was operated by Anglo Cargo, NOT Anglia Air Cargo as I stated.
Sorry for the confusion.

More 707's!

Seahawk I agree you are probably right about spotting although I was much too young then to know much about spotting....lol.

I wish more 707's were still around. Such a beautiful airliner. I guess that's the reason I like the A340........4 engined birds are rare and they always stand out from the normal twin engined varieties that so heavily populate our airports nowadays.
