Yep heat haze is definitely an issue, but they've come out good all the same.
When heat haze is playing up, the only thing you can do really is to avoid zooming in as much as possible. The more you zoom, the more of an issue it becomes. Best to zoom out and try and fill the frame when the plane approaches.
