-Yep, a former MON aircraft that I have flown (G-MONZ). Nice to see it back with Monarch, had 2 great flights on that bird.

-Where will the aircraft be based? Luton?
By: 20th February 2005 at 12:52 Permalink - Edited 1st January 1970 at 01:00
-Monarch doesn't tend to base aircraft as such, I assume it will spend much of its time between Manchester and Gatwick.

-Ah cool, my Brother might be flying on that one then!

-MAN will definately see this aircraft on a frequent basis. LTN gets 1 320 and MAN gets the other 2 at the moment with it previously being 3 in MAN before MONW left. We'll see her up north soon.

In the summer, there will be 4 A320's based in MAN, 1 at LGW and 1 at EDI.

Are you sure it's an A320 at EDI and not an A321? I have nothing to confirm or deny it, except for the fact that that it was a based A321 last year.

-You sure you don't mean EDI RIPConcorde? ;)

-RIP
Quite sure its going to be a 320 based at EDI. The EDI 321 from last summer is now going to be the additional ZB BHX aircraft.

-Where are the other MON 320s going to come from then if there are 6 planned and 4 currently?
By: 26th February 2005 at 18:42 Permalink - Edited 1st January 1970 at 01:00
-So are all ZB flights from BHX now gonna be operated by A321's? Original plans mentioned the A320 for the new scheduled routes from BHX.

-I would imagine so.

-Just returned from ACE to BHX on G-OZBE, both legs A321, nice comfortable aircraft, and even though we didn't pay for meals a computer glitch meant we got then anyway!!!!

-G-OZBE is a nice aircraft as is G-OZBG, the other 321 I've been on. The A321 is a very nice aircraft IMO.

-MAN seems to be "settling" down at the moment with 3 A321s (MARA, OZBF + OZBH) and 1 A320 (suspect it's OZBB) with an A300 operating the Saturday daylight service (more often than not MONR); I'm sure the new services at MAN means another A320 is needed, making 5 based for the scheduled services.
Last summer it was normally 2 A321s and 2 A320s.

-What's the Saturday daylight service?

-Oops! ZB572G/573G to Malaga.

-G-OZBJ was with Mexicana. It's delivery flight routed MEX-YHZ-LTN.
It will be Luton based for the time being.
Monarch are to receive two additional A320 aircraft before the start of the summer season.
The summer fleet will (provisionally) consist of the following.....
2 x A330-200
4 x A300-605R
1 x B767-300
7 x B757-200
7 x A321-200
6 x A320-200
Total of 27 aircraft.
All aircraft will be in the new colours for summer, except for the two A330s.

-So the when will then 2 remaining A300s will be painted?
By: 1st March 2005 at 00:57 Permalink - Edited 1st January 1970 at 01:00
-somebody in a past thread about MON said that they are to be painted in November 2005.
So the 2 remaining A300's in old cols (G-MAJS and G-OJMR) are to be painted before the summer? The A300's look nice in that new scheme!
