A long drawn out process (no pun intended) involving Illustrator and Photoshop.
I use illustrator to open official 3 views of the aircraft That more often than not gets me an accurate outline of the fuselage. I import that into photoshop and flesh the plan out using gradients, fills all manner of things. Also, hundreds of layers.
Takes a little while, but the end result is wat you see.

-Did ya'll know that at one point, MD were planning a twin version of the dc-10?
Basically a slight shrink in the fuselage length and deletion of the center engine.

-The new NWA scheme makes the DC10 fit into any flightline at airports, rather than the previous tired, dated scheme. They look great at AMS on Sat am when theres usually about 6 together!

-Absolutely superb Sandy. I'd love to have templates like that.

Agreed.
The new livery even makes 30 year old DC-9's look brand new.

-It wouldn't be much use without the software to make use of them, Matt,
And that doesn't come cheap, as I'm sure Sandy will agree.

Almost finished a new DC-10 template I've been working on all night.
Thought I'd test it out to see how it looks so far.
