Can't confirm but it would certainly fit in with their business strategy.

I suppose so, it would be a good route in my opinion, not only for the benefit of business travellers but for leisure too. There was a questionnaire on LCY's website about the possibility of a NCL route.

They have not announced it, although recently confirmed they are looking at an additional 20 possible links to LCY.

Oh well, if it happens a wonder who'll operate it? Any ideas?

Flybe are a low-cost airline, hence it is extremely unlikely that they will operate in LCY.

FlyBe have already pulled out of LCY and wont ever go back, and bmi doesn't have a NCL base. Its LBA flight does/will operate from the main fleet at LBA.

Someone on Pprune reckons that both the airports want the route and could be possible with an Eastern Airways J41 See what happens

I'd like to see Eastern operate NCL - GLA. It would make visiting my family in the 2 places far easier.

Do you think this one will ever happen?

I dont believe the Eastern crews are trained for LCY, however I think the aircraft have the steep approach kit required. Is there actualy a NCL base for Eastern?

No crews are trained until they are trained, so I'm not sure that it matters that Eastern do not have crews trained for the airport. Not too sure that it is likely to happen though. Some of the aircraft will be suitably equipped having operated into LCY with BRAL/BA CitiExpess.

Eastern do have a NCL base Mark.

Announced this morning in the Journal:
Businesses in the North are closer to the capital with the launch of a new private charter plane service linking Newcastle and the centre of London.
Air Charter operator Centreline announced yesterday that it had gained a licence to fly aircraft in and out of London City Airport, based at Canary Wahrf. The flights take one hour and 24 minutes and will see the industry and business commuters transported in modern seven-seater Kingair turboprop planes.
Centreline managing director Philip Brockwell said: "Clients can choose when they want to depart and return and because check in and check out times are so quick, be in the air within 10 minutes of arriving at the airport.
At London City Airport, we will arrange transport to and from their next meeting if required."
Chartering a plane can be cheaper than paying for accomodation and losing staff productivity.
Mr Brockwell also said: "We can also livery the craft with corporate branding if required, arrange fo in-flight refreshments and any other facility requested by our clients."

Perhaps this is what the rumour could have been?

                            Glasgow - Newcastle - Amsterdam ?
If I remember correctly, Air Wales had also planned this route doing PLH-CWL-NCL-GLA. They then changed their minds and did PLH-CWL-LPL-NCL. The Glasgow part never actually operated.
