Sukhoi Superjet fiery crash landing at Sheremetyevo

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...le-escape.html

Notice in one of the videos, pax had exited with their baggage, and according to Avherald, there may be more than one fatality. So how would those pax feel knowing that they might have caused the deaths of others because they wasted time to get their baggage?

An Aeroflot Sukhoi Superjet 100-95, registration RA-89098 performing flight SU-1492 from Moscow Sheremetyevo to Murmansk (Russia) with 76 people on board, departed Sheremetyevo's runway 24C at 18:04L (15:04Z) but stopped the climb at about FL100, declared loss of radio communication first, later emergency via transponder codes and returned to Sherementyevo for a landing on runway 24L at 18:31L (15:31Z). During the roll out the aircraft burst into flames, veered left off the runway and came to a stop on the grass adjacent to the runway, the aircraft burned down. At least one occupant perished in the accident, most occupants were able to evacuate the aircraft via both front door emergency slides, it is unknown how many injuries occurred. The aircraft's tail section completely burned down and was destroyed.

Emergency services reported the fire was extinguished about 45 minutes after landing. According to preliminary information there were 10 fatalities.

Russian News Agencies claim the aircraft received a lightning strike causing a total electrical failure and subsequent return and a hard landing.

Forty one people died from what I understand. May they RIP. The Superjet has been struggling on the world market. This could be really bad news for them depending on what investigators find.

Sad news. I think they were a bit reticent about announcing the number of deaths unless my news sources are slower whilst travelling.

Retrieving baggage from a crashed airliner is a very serious issue. I hope those seen doing so are prosecuted.

Update on this - and a possible explanation for the fiery crash being ruptured wing fuel tanks due to stresses on landing gear struts.
