-MANAIRPORTMAN - As a matter of fact, im coming up to man in Feb to do some weekend spotting. As I am a travel agent I got quite a good deal. Ive got a room at the SAS Radisson and a flight with BA. Im going out of LGW (as my mum and dad are going to New Orleans for the week) and comin into LHR (as it is nearer to where I live)

-When I took my Uncle to the airport last year and he stayed at the Radisson we went to help check him in. It looked very posh and the staff were very polite

Lets not forget about the F50s of VLM and Denim, ATRs of Air Wales, Aer Arran, ATPs from Emerald, A320s of Wizz, B732s and 8s of Ryanair.
Then theres the freight side with 748s, F27s, L188s, B462/3s etc etc etc...
These a lot more than just easyjet!

-Sounds good, I must of picked the right one. Is it OK to get from there to the AVP?
Any where good to go out to eat in the area?
By: 9th January 2005 at 14:25 Permalink - Edited 1st January 1970 at 01:00
-I stayed there in November - it's a decent airport hotel in my opinion. I'd recommend asking for a room with a view overlooking the apron (as half the rooms overlook the car park). It's difficult to get to the AVP without a car, though there are good facilities on the rooftop level of the T1 car park. In terms of eating establishments, aside from the hotel itself you've got the airport facilities. Plus, you're only 30 mins or so from central Manchester by bus, and even less by train.

Thinks its 201, hourly, weekend only, though Im sure a MAN expert can be 100% certain

-There is one during the week that runs from the bus station to the cargo centre from which it is about a 5-10 minute walk, think that is half hourly, and then I think their is a dedicated service on a weekend that goes right into the AVP. Never used the dedicated one so dont know anything about it :)

As a matter of interest, what planes fly from the different airports eg -
easyjet - 319 lgw, 73g BRS ect
I am thinking of doing another spotting trip in the summer, and wanted to fly on something different.
