Spanish operator Air Europa has emerged as a possible launch customer for the new Airbus A350 as the company prepares to dramatically expand its medium- and long-haul activities. The airline, which currently operates a mixed fleet of Boeing 737s and Boeing 767s, has selected Airbus A330 to support its new plans and has suggested that it may purchase the new model, which awaits final launch approval from the Airbus board.
An order for up to 10 aircraft is likely, but in the meantime the airline has agreed terms to lease two Airbus A330-200s, with deliveries scheduled for February and May 2005.

What routes do Air Europa serve with thier Boeing 767's?. Am I right in saying Air Europa only has 5 767's? If so this is going to be a pretty big expansion.

Air Europa and Blue Panorama though also operate long haul scheduled service and a First Choice B7E7 may end up on some scheduled Cyprus services

In Spain we have learnt one thing about Air Europa: "never take them seriously when talking about fleet changes". One day, they announce more B767, then 777, afterwards A330, days after 7E7 and now A350. Well, please guys....make up your mind. They are launching new services to Guayaquil and Quite, probable to Lima (where everybody is flying lately) and in may to China (altogether with Air Madrid, and Air Plus). New services to Warsaw, and Prague were added.

They were saying the same thing last month. When the A350 was not even given the green light. It has yet to be launched and yet to be offered for sale.

Last month, it was stated thet are are going for the A350 because the 7E7 is not ready, which is ridiculous. The 7E7 will be in service (all going well) 2 years before the A350. Furthermore at this stage there has been a lot more work done on the 7E7 than the A350.

Take anything announced from Air Europa with a pinch of salt, untill you actually see the plane (whatever they go for if any) painted and flying in their colours.
