-Why not, they are getting cheaper with the day. This is only a '200 mind you!
As a matter of fact, it has now been confirmed in the Dutch "Transport magazine" that SLM Surinam Airlines is going to buy a B747-300 from KLM. Probably PH-BUW. If even they can get one, I don't see why Air Wales can't get one.
If Air Wales can fill the plane, that is another question alltogether! :D

-Nice! But it has an orange color :s

-The runway at Cardiff is 2354m long. More than long enough to handle 747s, which it does on a regular basis as BA has its long haul maintenance base there.

-but is that long enough to serve 747-400's at 396 ton?

-No not at all, on MTW, the 744 needs 2990 meters.

-News on the board from LPL is that Air Wales will be suspending the CWL-LPL-NCL run soon - we try playing spot the passenger on somedays off the ATR its that quiet!

-Why not fly from Wales to New South Wales (Australia)?
By: 3rd January 2004 at 21:00 Permalink - Edited 1st January 1970 at 01:00
-Cardiff wouldn't be the problem Swansea would and as usual great pic ;)

-Airwales can afford anything! they just want to slowly build their fleet. They were putting in an offer of 100,000,000,000 for concorde and they were going to have one and do all the maintenance themselves but they decided against it as it would be too much of a jump for them. Concorde retired because no other airline was as rich as Air Wales to buy them.

By request I have made another Air Wales photoshop. This time the 747. It is only a '200 series and not something more modern as I did not have a good picture of a '400 I could use. Also... it is (was) Air France so the plane ended up somewhat greyish. ;)
