-Isn't the gulfstream a bit narrow for a regional? I believe it can only seat 1+1. Canadair is 2+1 as is Embraer.

-Last time I was on a CRJ it was 2+2, that was last month with Lufthansa and Eurowings.

In looking at the success of the Challenger/CRJ, it seems that Gulfsteam could have made a viable RJ from the G-IV. I think the market was large enough to support 3 manufactorers. If Gulfstream was quick about it, they could have beaten Fairchild Dornier into the market beating out that company's 528/728/928 program. Given that Fairchild Dornier did get orders, I think Gulfstream's RJ could have been viable. Farichild Dornier is now history because of its lack of capital, not that the 728 was a bad aircraft. Canadair and EMBRAER are now the only ones left. Is a Gulfstream RJ too late for the market?
