-Reports from the local enthusiasts groups...
Citation 2 D-CAUW came in on 14 like a bat out of hell and has gone off the end of 14 (like the tristar) airfield closed.
Apparently she has come to rest on her nose, with no injuries. Apparently the airfield may be able to re-open in next 30mins or so, dependant on damage to lighting and/or other equiptment
Will keep ya posted...

-Leeds has and still can handle a/c up to B747 size. AN extra 500m would be excellent as an addition to Rwy14/32, but then again there would b the problem of the Cheven off the end of 14 which already dictates a 3.5 degrees glideslope, and the rwy can't really extend much further at the 32 end! Problem...

-sounds like it's open with a reduced Take off/Landing distance at the moment. Not sure how the B737/757/767 a/c will cope - next decent size landing is the MYT B752 for Fuertaventura in 45mins or so.
From the board looks like departures are recommencing...

hmmmmn...well ok, if you consider reducing pax numbers massively and carrying limited fuel!

-Unrestricted runway requirements:
747-100 - 3,100m
747-200 - 3,100m
747-300 - 3,100m
747-400 - 2,990m
Typical runway lengths:
Leeds-Bradford - 2,250m
Liverpool - 2,286m
Manchester - 3,048m
Heathrow - 3,902m
Gatwick - 3,159m
Glasgow - 2,658m
Humberside - 1,554m
I use HUY as an illustration, as I have personally witnessed a B742 and Concorde operate there; presumably under special conditions.

-yea bearing in mins it's a VIP SP i'm not surprised it only had that number on board, picked up 8 from NM brought in by 2 helos from the York Races i think...
Our charter 747s used to run from here over to Canada, so fuel wasn't really a huge factor in its departure status
andway heres some pics courtesy of Paul (Dont know his last name) a contributer to LBA2...

What Man U match?
I take it you mean the [sarcasm mode]ever so exciting CL final[/sarcasm mode] at Old Trafford?
If ever there was proof needed that no country should have more than one team competing in the CL...
Incidentally, I'll bet neither AC nor Juve brought 75'000 supporters from around the World with them...

-Sorry it should have read for the match AT Man U - hard to believe i'm a football fan really after travelling the country watching my beloved Ipswich Town and England, as well as one or two "other" matches such as FA cup finals and alike!
Yep what a poor match... what a poor shoot out... what a long trip home for Juventus...

-It was not a very exciting match, to say the least. Typical of Italian teams, in my opinion.
