The 787 Dreamliner built at the new seven-airplane-per-month production rate rolled out of the Everett Final Assembly facility. The airplane is the 114th 787 to be built and 100th to be built in Everett.
Quoting Larry Loftis, vice president and general manager of the 787 program. “We’ve faced some challenges this year, but the team members have kept their heads down and executed the plan. Production health continues to improve, and we remain on track to increase our production rate to 10 per month by year-end.”
“We reached this milestone because of the ownership our teams are taking in their daily work,” said Gary McCulley, director of 787 Final Assembly operations. “It’s fun to watch this group – they manage their work, track their metrics and work together when confronted with issues. I have absolute confidence in everyone on our team.”
The program production rate accounts for airplanes built in Boeing South Carolina, Everett Final Assembly and the Temporary Surge Line in Everett.
