As of the 1st January, Kingfisher Airlines has officially ceased trading.
The Indian government has revoked the airline's operating licence after it failed to secure debts to the tune of £870 million.
It's the employees I feel sorry for, they've been working without pay for months - the only thing that stopped them from striking was the threat of the company going bankrupt and them being left without any job. Hopefully they'll find work with one of the many Indian LCCs. I've said it before and I'll say it again; the authorities should have shut the airline down long ago.
