When the A320NEO was launched, a target of 500 was set and today Airbus have passed that figure comfortabley! Good job, just need to deliver them on time.

Airbus NEO Deals Total Passes 500

Posted by Robert Wall

At the outset of the year Airbus had set a target for its A320NEO (new engine option) commitments to reach around 500 after the Paris air show. In that case, the company can save some money and close down its chalet today.

The deals announced today at Paris, from SAS, GECAS, and Air Lease Corp., bring the company far above that total. Its enough to make Airbus COO for customers, John Leahy, note that production slot availability is getting tight for NEOs in the near term -- most of the deals announced at Le Bourget so far are for delivery in the 2016-2019 timeframe. Slot availability will get even tighter in the next few days.

Also, since the formation of Airbus, they have exceeded 10,000 orders!

I can't help but notice that most of the orders are from airlines placing orders that total twice or even three times the number of their current fleets.

Aha! you hit it right on the head there Sandy:D

Hence my thread which opens with figures stating which are firm orders as opposed to MOUs-
"A320NEO orders - anyone keeping an exact tally?" otherwise knowing the less informed or in reality 'crap' journalists who never dig below a marketing statement press release count and report on some of the same old MOU/promises of a few years back as if they were new orders. In fact some of these older MOUs haven't even become firm as yet.

No, say it ain't so!

Bluff and bluster from Mr. Leahy?

Fuzzy math, the orders don't add up? Impossible!
