-I used to watch these lovely, lumbering old aircraft fly in NZ, even getting to fly on one in 1990.

-Thanks for that. Might try and get over to Cambridge to see them.
Is there any good areas to spot there?

-For those who have flown 'Gooney Birds' what has been your experience of the Trim wheel (nearest the legs of the Captain's seat) if a passenger or passengers moves/move about in the cabin?
As for engines (radials) they'll safely come home with one feathered if necessary.

For those near Cambridge, on the 10th of July both DDA DC-3s (PH-PBA and PH-DDZ) will fly to Cambridge. They leave Rotterdam around 08:00, so I suppose arrival around 08:30ish? They will both fly back that evening, probably around 18:00ish with scheduled arrival at Rotterdam at 20:30.
The 11th only PH-DDZ will fly to Cambridge. Probably at the same times.
The reason for the flights is to bring spotters to Duxford. Apparantly Duxford lacks the required fire-fighting coverage for passenger flights.
